Kay Farmer, age 69, of Hopkinsville, KY

HOPKINSVILLE, KY - Kay Farmer, age 69, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away at 4:20 AM Monday, April 2, 2012 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN, of natural causes.

Mrs. Farmer was born in Hopkinsville on June 5, 1942, the daughter of the late Howard Preston Rives and Margaret Mason. Kay worked in job placement for the State of Kentucky and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hopkinsville, in addition to serving on the Executive Board of the Western Kentucky State Fair. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Emmett Farmer in 1994.

Survivors include her son, Neil Farmer, Hopkinsville; two daughters, Becky Chocklett, Clarksville, TN and Cindy Stagner, Hopkinsville and one brother, Joe P. Rives, Pembroke, KY, as well as four grandchildren; Garrett Chocklett, Clarksville; Jacob Hyde and Kimberly Hyde, both of Hopkinsville, and Justyn Stevenson, Hopkinsville.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 6, 2012 at Green Hill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Bobby Sellers officiating, with burial to follow. There will be no public visitation. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Kentucky Region, 240 Whittington Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40222 or to Pennyroyal Hospice, INC., 220 Burley Ave., Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
