David (D.N.) Short, age 81 of Elkton

HOPKINSVILLE, KY - David (D.N.) Short, age 81 of Elkton, KY passed away 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012 at his residence of natural causes.

Mr. D.N. was born in Elkton, KY July 29, 1930 the son of Gillie Russell Short and the late Walton Jake Short. He was a farmer and past owner of Dew and Cates John Deere Dealership in Elkton, KY. He was a U.S. Army veteran where he was an instructor. He is preceded in death by his wife Imogene Scott Short in 2007, one sister Jerri McKinney.

Survivors besides his Mother, two sons David (Jennifer) Short of New Jersey, Ashley (Vanessa) Short of Allensville, KY, two daughters Sue Johnson of Nashville, TN and Connie (Joe) Yates of Springfield, TN, four sisters Patricia Shawley of McKinney, TX, Mary Ellen Harris of Columbus, GA, Barbara Thomas, Ozark, AL, Kay Tarbox of St. Joe, FL. 6 Grandchildren Rachel Johnson, Sarah Johnson Shopay, Elliott Short, Ryan Short, Catherine Short and Carley Short.

Services will be Monday April 30, 2012 10:00 a.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Rev. Tommy Wilhite and Rev. Lloyd Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery in Elkton. Visitation will be on Sunday April 29, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home.
