Neveline Lucille Choate Shanks Zentmyer, 87, of Crofton

CROFTON, KY - Neveline Lucille Choate Shanks Zentmyer, 87, of Crofton, died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Christian Health Center in Hopkinsville after a long illness.

A native of Crofton born August 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Herman Leroy and Mary Marie Jones Choate and had been a homemaker. She was the widow of Gilbert Hanson Shanks who died in 1961 and her second husband, Clifton Zentmyer who died in 1999. She was a member of Crofton Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Wayne Shanks and his wife Carolyn of Hopkinsville, one daughter Margaret Ladd and her husband Paul Gregory of Madisonville, KY, one stepson William Zentmyer and his wife Roseann, Crofton, two stepdaughters, Shirley Caldwell, Broken Arrow, OK and Lavonne Milby and her husband Dan, Hopkinsville. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Allen, a grandson, Lee Dennis McKibbon, two brothers; Hanson and Lewis Choate and three sisters; Irene Younger, Erma Wagner and Lois Kiefer.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Crofton conducted by Rev. Bobby Reno with burial to follow in Ridgetop Cemetery in Crofton. Pallbearers will be Mike Ladd, Matthew Ladd, Charles Carter, Cody Carter, Scott Gregory and Mike King. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
