Freddie Gene Cole, age 82, of Hopkinsville, KY

HOPKINSVILLE, KY - Freddie Gene Cole, age 82, of Hopkinsville, KY passed away 8:00 AM, Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at the VA Hospital in Nashville, TN of natural causes.

Mr. Cole was born September 28, 1929 in Pittsburg, Iowa the son of the late Frederick Clyde and Willa Mae Cook Cole. Gene was a U.S. Army Veteran, and retired as a Captain for the Iowa State Penitentiary. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, GWRRA, NRA and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dale, James, and Ben Cole; his sisters, Georgia Huffman, and Lucy Cole.

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Seay Cole of Pembroke; his sons, Fredrick Eugene Cole of Canada, and Robert Dale Cole of Iowa; his daughters, Vonnie Kay Reed of Florida, and Diana Marie Davis of Iowa; his step-son, Malcolm Lee Massie of Pembroke; his step-daughters, Tammy Gayle Thomas of Hopkinsville, and Jenny Newby of Hopkinsville; his brothers, Cecil and John Cole of Iowa, and Sandy Cole of Illinois; his sisters, Minnie Thomas of Hopkinsville, Joan Lunsford of Missouri, and Vera Link of Iowa; ten grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, six-great-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, July 13, 2012 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veteran Cemetery-West. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon Friday, July 13, 2012 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
