Ruby M. Bivins Simpson, 86, Hopkinsville, Ky.

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Ruby M. Bivins Simpson, 86, Hopkinsville, Ky., passed away at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville after a brief illness.

A native of Sturgis, Kentucky born February 6, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Minnie Alma Hammonds Bivins. She was retired from Jennie Stuart Medical Center after 17 years of service in Central Store and Supply.

She is survived by three daughters; Janice Ann Feathers, Roxie Carol Mounts and Sue Ellen Simpson, all of Hopkinsville, one sister, Louvaeda “Sis” Davis, Martinez, California, eleven grandchildren; Charlie Mimms, Susan Powell, Sam Pearson, Kelly Edwards, Jimmy Mounts, Johnny Mounts, Jamal Mounts, Casey Mounts, Tony Simpson, Mike Simpson and Matthew Patterson, seventeen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lomond W. Simpson in 1981, one son, Herschel W. Simpson in 2004 and a granddaughter, Casey Rose in 1990.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Macedonia Cemetery conducted by Rev. Juanita Bailey.

Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville in charge of arrangements.
