Orbrey (Buck) Edwards, 90, Hopkinsville, KY

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Orbrey (Buck) Edwards, 90, Hopkinsville, KY, passed away there at 2:13 a.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012 after a short illness.

A native of Clifty, Kentucky born May 2, 1922, he was the son of the late John Jackson Edwards and Myrtie C. Bolton Edwards. He had been a self-employed farmer early in his life and then worked as a heavy equipment operator for both Hopkinsville Stone and Christian Quarries. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.

Survivors include his wife, Lothell Edwards, one son, Larry N. Edwards and his wife Kaye, three daughters; Barbara Joyce Edwards Bird (Jerry), Linda Edwards Russell (Darrell) and Judy Edwards Smith (John), one sister, Audrey “Crick” Drury, all of Hopkinsville, six grandchildren; Steven Bird, Sr., Angela Groppel, Jason Russell, Amy Hibbs, Kevin Edwards and Jonathan Smith, nine great-grandchildren; Steven Bird, Jr., Justin Bird, Jessica Berman, Joshua Groppel, Josiah Groppel, Madison Hibbs, Logan Hibbs, Ashlea Russell and Addison Edwards and four great-great-grandchildren; Carson Bird, Caylin Berman, Cameron Bird and Justin Bird, Jr.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville conducted by Rev. Louie Montoya and Rev. Darrell Russell with burial to follow in New Barren Springs Cemetery in Christian County. Pallbearers will be Jason Russell, Jonathan Smith, Steven Bird, Matthew Hibbs, Jason Groppel and Steven Wayne Bird, Jr. with Justin Bird serving as honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the funeral home.
