Ambie B. Taylor Mason, 95, Hopkinsville, Ky

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Ambie B. Taylor Mason, 95, Hopkinsville, Ky  passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 9:00 p.m. at Bradford Heights Health & Rehab Center after a long illness.

A native of Trigg Co., Kentucky born March 14, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Henry E. and Valaria J. Tinsley. She was a bookkeeper and was retired from Johnson’s Tin Shop. She had also been a homemaker and was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church.

Her husband, A. Frank Mason, passed away in April, 2002.

Survivors include two sons; Frank T. Mason, Sr. (Ruth), Herndon, KY and Ronnie Mason (Linda), also of Herndon, one daughter, Faye Mason Shemwell (Harvey) of Hopkinsville, six grandchildren; Bert Shemwell, John Shemwell, Terry Mason, Laura Sims, Deborah Thomas and Frank T. Mason, Jr., seventeen great-grandchildren; Ashley Shemwell Wood, Kari Shemwell Campbell, Amanda Shemwell, Amy Shemwell Steely, Katie Shemwell, Lauren Coley, Austin Shemwell, Mason Sims, Victoria Sims, Lane Thomas, Morgan Thomas, Connor Thomas, Sasha Bowles, Mark Mason, Jr., Dylan Mason, Dakota Mason and Frank Mason III, and four great-great-grandchildren; Kylie Faye Wood, Skylar Bowles, Waylon Bowles and Jackson Bowles.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren; Ronald Lee Mason in 1992, Mark A. Mason, Sr., in 2004 and Cal Mason Shemwell in 2009.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with burial to follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be John Shemwell, Bert Shemwell, Frank T. Mason, Jr., Terry Mason, Austin Shemwell and Mark Mason.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the donor’s favorite charity.
