HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Mary Virginia Humphrey West, 91, Hopkinsville, KY, passed away at 7:55 a.m. Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at her residence of natural causes.
A native of Christian County born June 16, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jesse Humphrey and Lady Florence Parker Humphrey.
She worked at several places in her career as an accountant and nursing home administrator. She retired at 85 after working for Ky. Derby Hosiery for 25 years. Also, she was very active in the Disabled American Veterans with her husband Tryon West. She was a member of the local Homemakers group and the Red Hat Society. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Her husband, Tryon Yancey West, passed away in 1992. She is survived by nine grand nieces and grand nephews; John Manire, Louisville, KY, James Manire, Orange Park, FL, Troy Manire, Mt. Washington, KY, Jed Manire, Owensboro, KY, Trina Diuguid, Lexington, KY, Jessica Hernandez, Clarksville, TN, Jay Manire, Tampa, FL, Joy Willbur, Lexington, KY and Jana Williams, also of Lexington, 23 great grand nieces and nephews, and 2 great great grand nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Manire, Jay Manire, Troy Manire, Daniel Hernandez, Carlos Hernandez, Trey Hernandez, McKay Diuguid and Daniel Whitson. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville is in charge of arrangements.
