Helen Irene Good, age 85, of Crofton, KY

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Helen Irene Good, age 85, of Crofton, KY passed away 12:58 AM Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

Mrs. Good was born September 7, 1927 in Christian County, Ky. the daughter of the late James Oscar and Nellie Marsh Simpson. She was a homemaker, a member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Irvin Good in 1995; two sons, Malcolm Good in 1949 and Jimmy Ray Good in 2008; one brother, James “Son” Simpson; one sister, Ernestine Jones.

She was survived by six daughters, Shirley Combs and her husband Browder of Crofton, Sharon Henderson and her husband Tommy of Hopkinsville, Pamela Jones of Hopkinsville, Joy Rogers and her husband Lynn of Hopkinsville, Wanda Wheeler of Hopkinsville, Paula McGar of Hopkinsville; six brothers, Hilmond Simpson, Clifford Simpson, Douglas Simpson, Kenneth Simpson, William Simpson and Milton Simpson all of Hopkinsville; four sisters, Juanita Johnson of Hopkinsville, Nell Cooper of Mortons Gap, Pauline White of Hopkinsville, Carolyn Faye Sugg of Hopkinsville; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Ashby officiating. Burial will follow in Hamby Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
