HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Richard Carter, passed away on December 27, 2012. A native of Logan, West Virginia, he was born October 15, 1945, the son the late James Thomas and Fredia Manard Carter. He worked as a dyemaker and engineer in Detroit for over 30 years, and was a member of Cadiz Community Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard B. Carter, in 2005. Survivors include his wife, Shirlee J. Carter; four sons, Thomas J. Carter, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Keith A. Carter, Waterford, Michigan, Mark Powell, Cadiz, Kentucky, and Timothy Powell, Hopkinsville, Kentucky; two daughters, Angela Powell, Crofton, Kentucky, and Laura Jean Yousif, Eddyville, Kentucky; two brothers, Phillip Carter, Eddyville, Kentucky, and Frank Carter, Monroe, Michigan; a sister, Dreama Gayle Kelly, Eddyville; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at a later date. Funeral Service will be at a later date. The body is being cremated.
