Neta Doss Smith, age 86 of Hopkinsville, KY

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Neta Doss Smith, age 86 of Hopkinsville, KY passed away 2:10 AM Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Bradford Heights rehabilitation Center of natural causes.

Mrs. Smith was born October 4, 1926 in San Antonio, Texas the daughter of the late Alfred Smith and Mary Ade Swim Doss. She started working at age sixteen as a teacher in Arkansas. Then she was a department manager for Sears in California, also worked for the State of California as a supervisor in the department of insurance. In 1971, her husband opened Smith’s Carpets until they retired. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Glen Smith in 2010, also three brothers, preceded her death.

Survivors include one daughter, Gleneta Jane Noffsinger and her husband Donald Noffsinger of Hopkinsville; two grandchildren, Doneta Noffsinger Williams and her husband Brian Williams of Henderson, KY, and Lance Noffsinger and his wife, Kim Pearson Noffsinger of Goodlettsville, TN; four great grandchildren, Brianna Jane Williams, Curtis Lee Williams, Lee Mabrey Noffsinger and Cal Parker Noffsinger.

Graveside Services will 11:00 AM Friday, January 4, 2013 at Ky Veterans Cemetery West with Mr. Joby Brown officiating with burial to follow. There will be no public visitation. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
