HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Dorothy Lee (Nanny B) Gray, age 86, of Hopkinsville, KY passed away 9:55 AM Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at her home of natural causes.
Mrs. Gray was born in Christian County, KY, on June 19, 1926, the daughter of the late George Washington and Jennie Morris Cook. Dorothy and her husband Shibo was the owner/operator of the IGA on North Main for 35 years. She was a member Southside Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert “Shibo” Gray in 1990; three brothers, George “Junior”, William Earl “Buddy”, and Robert “Buddy “Cook.; her sister, Mildred Dark.
Survivors include her son, Wayne Gray and his wife, Tracia of Hopkinsville, KY; her daughters, Peggy Resler of Hopkinsville, KY, and Sherry Farmer and her husband, Mel of Taylorsville, KY; her brother, Bobby Dean Cook of Tennessee; her sisters, Marie Gilkey of Hopkinsville, KY, and Lucille Molenda of Florida; eight grandchildren, Sherry Searcy of Lawrenceburg, KY, Leslea Cremia of Fort Myers, FL, Mitch Kocak of Spring Hill, TN, Jami Searcy of Frankfort, KY, Jennifer Ogden of Brentwood, TN, Jenna Gray of Knoxville, TN, Taylor Gray of Hopkinsville, KY, and Alden Gray of Hopkinsville, KY; six great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2013 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Mr. Terry Jones and Mr. Walter Edwards officiating with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, Hopkinsville.
