HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Dorothy Elizabeth Camp West, 97, of Hopkinsville, KY of Bradford Heights Nursing & Rehab Center and formerly of Morningside Assisted Living, Hopkinsville, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.
A native of Greenville, Texas born July 11, 1915, she was the daughter of the late William Hille and Leila Margarite Bacon Camp. She was retired after a career working for the National Institutes of Health in the cancer department in Washington, DC.
Vernon Eskridge West, her loving husband of 74 years, survives her. She was a longtime member of Christ Community Church.
In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, John B. West, Herndon, and his wife Sylvia O. West, one daughter, Joy VanArsdale West Borden and her husband Andrew P. Borden of Colorado Springs, Colorado, four grandchildren; John Carter Borden, Andrew West Borden, Leila West Hundley and John Nathaniel West and five great-grandchildren; Kendra Borden, Alexa Borden, Jake Borden, Rachel Borden and Jaron Hundley.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville conducted by Rev. Louis Embry and Rev. Vince Ferrell with entombment to follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
