Barbara Mitchell, age 79 of Allegre, KY

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Barbara Mitchell, age 79 of Allegre, KY passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 8:00AM at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

Mrs. Barbara was born in Todd County April 3, 1933 the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Betty Gregory Hurt. She worked at Elkton Apparel a number of years and retired from Flynn Enterprise. She was a member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband, James Edward Mitchell passed away in 1990. She was also preceded in death by 5 brothers, Earl, Allen, Charlie, Dorris and Maurice Hurt, 3 sisters, Katherine Jernigan, Juanita Hurt, and Magdalene Blake.

She is survived by one son, Rev. Eddie (Delois) Mitchell of Allegre, four daughters, Betty (Gilbert) Tucker of Allegre, KY, Nancy (the late Richard) Baker of Hopkinsville, KY, Linda Kaye (David) Whitaker of Clifty, KY and Tina (Terry) Frogue of Elkton, KY; one brother, Douglas Hurt of Elkton, KY; 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, 3 step Grandchildren, and 4 step Great Grandchildren.

Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, February 1, 2013 at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Mr. Terry Frogue, Rev. Tommy Franklin and Rev. Eddie Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the France Cemetery in Todd County. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY.
