Kenneth Lynn Rutledge, 59, Hopkinsville, KY

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Kenneth Lynn Rutledge, 59, Hopkinsville, KY passed away at approximately 4:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at his residence.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the funeral home.

A native of Evansville, IN born December 17, 1953, he was the son of Roy Delbert Rutledge, Central City, KY and the late Lillian May Quisenberry Rutledge.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army having served his country in VietNam. He had been a master welder and worked through the Boilermaker’s Union.

“Kenny” began competitively trap shooting at the age of 16, finishing at the top in the majority of his competitions and narrowly missing the opportunity to participate in the Olympics. He was known by many in the community for his craft of building and rebuilding guns as a gunsmith.

Kenny was well-known for his boisterous laugh and willingness to help anyone in need.

In addition to his father, he is survived by one son; Austin Rutledge, Owensboro, KY, two daughters; Christina Rutledge Morris and her husband Jason of Hopkinsville, and Jennifer Hicks and her husband Matthew of Owensboro; one brother; Robert Rutledge and his wife Judy of Louisville, KY, one sister; Sara Quisenberry and her husband David, Owensboro, four grandchildren; Micah Raylynn Morris, Eli G. Preston Morris, Allison Paige Rutledge and Matthew Colton Hicks, and by his stepmother, June Rutledge.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2013 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Crofton conducted by Rev. Alan Hopper. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at KY Veterans Cemetery West with full military honors. Pallbearers will be Robert Rutledge, David Quisenberry, Michael Long, Jason Morris, Jerry Heade and Matthew Hicks.
