Stephanie Harned Young, age 54, of Hopkinsville, KY

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Stephanie Harned Young, age 54, of Hopkinsville, KY passed away 5:25PM Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Baptist Health in Madisonville, KY of natural causes.

Mrs. Young was born February 4, 1959, in Christian County, KY the daughter of Gayla Wade Harned of Hopkinsville, KY and the late Howard Herman Harned. She was a teacher’s aide at Martin Luther King Elementary School. Stephanie was a member of New Ebenezer Baptist Church, Highland Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, and United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Woodmen of the World.

In addition to her mother, Gayla Harned survivors include her husband of 34 years, Chris Young of Hopkinsville, KY; her son, Lee A. Young of Hopkinsville, KY; her daughter, Kathryn L. Young of the home; her Maternal Grandmother, Mabel Wade of Camden, TN; a brother, Eugene Harned and his wife, Bonlou of Hopkinsville, KY; a sister, Becky Saddler and her husband, James of Hopkinsville, KY.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 21, 2013 at New Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Neil Immel officiating. Burial will follow in New Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, February 20, 2013 and 1:00PM until time of service at New Ebenezer Baptist Church. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home in Hopkinsville, KY is in charge of arrangements.
