HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Edna Wengerd Schlabach, age 88 of Guthrie, KY, passed away 6:25 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at her residence of natural causes.
Mrs. Schlabach was born August 27, 1924 in Holmes Co., Ohio the daughter of the late Emanuel and Mary Swartzentruber Wengerd. She was a homemaker and a member of the South District Amish Church. She was preceded by two brothers, Melbin and Henry Wengerd, one sister, Verna Wengerd, 1 Granddaughter and 1 Great Granddaughter.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Ervin J. Schlabach; her sons, Alvin (Irene) Schlabach of Dade City, FL, Robert (Shirley) Schlabach of Crofton and Wayne (Linda) Schlabach of Auburn; her daughters, Mary (Joni) Miller of Franklin, KY, Ruth Schlabach of Guthrie, Verna (Vernon) Hochstetler of Auburn and Wilma (Eli) Hostetler of Auburn; four sisters, Clara Weaver of Apple Creek, Ohio, Elizabeth Weaver of Dover, Ohio, Ada Wengered of Bradenton, FL and Nettie Beachy of Sugar Creek, Ohio; 32 Grandchildren and 26 Great Grandchildren.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013 at South District Amish Church, 4195 Penchem Road, Guthrie, KY 42234 with Bishop Marvin Kanagy officiating. Burial will follow in the South District Amish Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Church and Saturday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Latham Funeral Home in Elkton is in charge of the arrangements.
