HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Maurice Chesnut Porter Jr., age 84 of Mobile, AL and formerly of Todd Co., passed away 3:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at Gordon Oak Convalescent Center in Mobile of natural causes.
Mr. Maurice was born November 10, 1928 in Christian Co., KY the son of the late Maurice Chesnut Porter Sr and Rose Burrus Porter. He was a retired Pharmaceutical Salesman and a Murray State University graduate. Mr. Maurice was a U. S. Air Force Veteran of Korea and a member of the Bells Chapel United Methodist Church in Todd County.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Scott Porter of Atlanta, GA; one step-son, Kenneth Bonds of McCalla, AL; one daughter, Elizabeth Porter D’Andrea of Lihue, Hawaii; three step-daughters, Karen Gref of Hoyschton, GA, Patsy Gaffney of Lilbview, Ga and Julia Corbitt of Alabaster, AL; one sister, Patsy Taylor of Hopkinsville, 12 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 12 Noon, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Bart Myers officiating. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation. Latham Funeral Home in Elkton is in charge of the arrangements.
