HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Jimmy (Goose) Johnson, 74, of Hopkinsville, KY, passed away March 11, 2013, at Baptist Hospital Madisonville of natural causes. He was an organ and tissue donor.
A native of Christian County, he was born March 24, 1938, the son of the late Jim Johnson and Mary Ruth Gray Thompson. He was a member of First Christian Church. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran. He was a member of the VFW. He worked in sales for Pepsi Cola and was the owner of Gooses Time Out Tavern.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Johnson; two sons: Frank Johnson (Hannah) of Elmhurst, Illinois, and Ed Johnson of Hopkinsville; two brothers: Tommy Johnson and Ricky Johnson both of Texas; 3 sisters: Sherry Lane of Linton, KY, Patti Card of Florida, Bonita Johnson of Hopkinsville; and 3 grandchildren: Alex Johnson, Will Johnson, and Audrey Johnson.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at KY Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville officiated by Rev. Nathan Brown. Entombment will follow in KY Veterans Cemetery West. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
