VaLynna J. Willey, 58, Hopkinsville, KY

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - VaLynna J. Willey, 58, Hopkinsville, KY passed away at 10:26 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center after a long illness.

A native of Holdenville, Oklahoma born April 9, 1954, she was the daughter of Patsy McKinzie Mitchell of Henrietta, Oklahoma and the late James L. Robertson. She was an educator and taught for 25 years at Christian County High School.

She was a member of Highland Presbyterian Church, National Education Association, Christian County Education Association, American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and the American Vocational Association. She was also a lay minister having earned her Diploma in Pastoral Studies of the Presbytery.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, James T. Willey, Sr., one son, James T. Willey, Jr., Hopkinsville, one daughter, Sandra H. Starner, York, Pennsylvania, two half-brothers; Ronnie Mitchell and Dennis Mitchell, both of Henrietta, Oklahoma and fifteen grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville conducted by Rev. Don Troutman and Rev. Joseph Leek with burial to follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Corey Winter, Bradon Willey, James Willey, Jr., Josh Willey and Josh Starner.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
