Margie Christine Hightower Harrison Farmer, 85, of Flatwoods

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Margie Christine Hightower Harrison Farmer, 85, of Flatwoods passed away peacefully at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland on March 20, 2013 with her family at her side.

She was born on September 29, 1927 in Christian County, KY a daughter of the late Lawrence and Ettie Gary-Hightower.

Mrs. Farmer owned and operated Harrison’s Upholstery Shop for a number of years in Hopkinsville and she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Flatwoods.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Odell E. Harrison; one sister Lucille Powell; three brothers Charles, Gary and Freeman Hightower as well as one grandson Jared Cannon.

There is a loving a devoted family left behind to cherish her memory including her husband Clarence Farmer of Flatwoods; three sons and their spouses Dr. Alvin R. Harrison and Valli of Danville, Elvis Harrison and Diane of Hendersonville, TN and Howard Harrison and Kim of Ashland; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and many extended family members and friends all of whom will miss her dearly.

Funeral Services will be held this evening at the First Baptist Church of Flatwoods at 7 pm with visiting hours from 5pm-7 pm at the church. Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods had been entrusted with local arrangements.

There will be an additional visitation in Hopkinsville, KY on Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 12-2 pm at the Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home, 700 Country Club Lane in Hopkinsville. Graveside service will be at 2:30 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Green Hill Memorial gardens in Hopkinsville with the burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations should be made to the First Baptist Church of Flatwoods’s Deacon Fund or Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
