Grace Witherspoon McGowan, age 98

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Grace Witherspoon McGowan, age 98, of The Chapel House passed away 11:00 PM Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

Mrs. McGowan was born November 21, 1914, in Caldwell County, KY, the daughter of the late Charles O. and Sara Frances Fletcher Witherspoon. She was a homemaker and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh McGowan in 1968; brothers, Robert O. , James W., Elmer Stanley, Homer Lee, Finis Cash, and Leon Dugan Witherspoon; her sister, Ella Mae Storms.

Survivors include her son, Don McGowan of Hopkinsville, KY; her brother Charles Witherspoon of Princeton, KY; her sisters, Sara Agnes Moore of Princeton, KY, and Myrtle Ruth Lipford of West Palm Beach, FL; her grandsons, Steve McGowan and his wife, Sherry of Hopkinsville, KY, and Todd McGowan and his wife, April of Jacksonville, FL; her granddaughter, Patricia Sewell of Hopkinsville, KY; her great-grandchildren, Matt, Drew, Vivian, and Grant McGowan, Kim Perrin, and Holly Newton.

Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Giltner officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton, KY. Visitation will be from 11:30 until time of service on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
