HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - John (Butch) Gamble, 88, of Hopkinsville, Ky, passed away June 24, 2013, at his home of natural causes.
A native of Fairview, Ky, he was born November 4, 1924, the son of the late William and Ora Price Gamble. He was a WW II U.S. Army Veteran. He was a retired mechanic. He was a member of the VFW Post 1913 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
Survivors include his daughter Debby Moore and son-in-law Alan Moore; a brother Doug Gamble of St. Claire, Michigan; a sister: Louise Nixon of Nashville, Tennessee; 2 grandsons: Davis Moore of Pope AFB, Fayetteville, North Caroline and Mitchell Moore of Hopkinsville; and a great-granddaughter: Iris Olivia Moore.
He was preceded in death by his wife Garvie Armstrong Gamble in 2012.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Ky Veterans Cemetery West, officiated by Rev. Dr. Kent Workman. Burial will follow in Ky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville in charge of arrangements.
