‘Bright Lights, Red City’ Theme for 2013 Homecoming at WKU

wku red redBOWLING GREEN, Ky. (6/27/13) - “Bright Lights, Red City” will be the theme of WKU’s 2013 Homecoming celebration in October.

The Hilltoppers will face Troy in the Homecoming football game at 3 p.m. Oct. 26 at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium.

“The theme of ‘Bright Lights, Red City’ was chosen by a Homecoming committee of alumni, staff and students, including President Gary Ransdell,” said Ginny Hensley, director of Alumni Programming. “Our Homecoming theme also ties in well with the overall football season theme of ‘It’s Show Time.’ We hope the Bowling Green community is painted in Hilltopper red throughout Homecoming week.”

Homecoming week activities will be conducted Oct. 21-27. Additional information will be available on the Alumni Association website and Spirit magazine.

“Homecoming is a special time on the WKU campus when students, faculty, staff and alumni together show great pride in the WKU Spirit,” Hensley said. “Our goal is to spread that same Spirit throughout the region through our Homecoming festivities.”
