HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - William A. (Bill) Joiner, 76, of Herndon, KY passed away 7:40 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Magnolia Village in Bowling Green, KY of natural causes.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Olivet Baptist Church in Herndon, KY with the Rev. Brandt Lyon and the Rev. Abe Bagby officiating. Burial will follow in Powell Cemetery in LaFayette. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Olivet Baptist Church. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of Christian County, KY he was born August 26, 1936 the son of the late Ewing Jefferson Joiner and Ruby Branch Bagby Joiner. He was a former partner/agency manager with Ky Farm Bureau in Hopkinsville. He taught agriculture to students in the Christian County Public School System and also taught Adult Agriculture classes.
He was a member of Olivet Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, former Sunday School Teacher, and former treasurer. He was a member of Gideons International having served as State President, State Vice President, State Memorial Bible Chairman, and many local offices including President of the Hopkinsville Gideon Camp and the Christian County Gideon Camp.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Toby Ann Gabbard Joiner, who passed away December 31, 2006.
Survivors include his son: Gary Joiner of LaFayette, KY; his daughters: Pam Dudas (Frankie) of Christian County, KY and Sherry Lombard (Joe) of Bowling Green, KY; his brother: Kendall Joiner of Hopkinsville, KY; his sister: Joan Young (Eugene) of Clarksville, TN; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
