Lucy Lee Choate Mitchuson, age 74, of St. John, Indiana

obit12HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Lucy Lee Choate Mitchuson, age 74, of St. John, Indiana passed away at 5:20PM Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Vibra Hospital in Crown Point, IN of natural causes.

Mrs. Mitchuson was born on Wednesday, September 28, 1938 in Trigg County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Georgie Byron Sr., and Dellie Mae Cunningham Choate. She was a furniture upholsterer for Tilles Interiors for the last 25 years. Lucy was preceded in death by her brothers, George “GC”, Byron Jr., James Lacy, Billy Ray, and Clarence Choate; her sisters, Margie Hancock, Dorothy Hinson, and Louise Hinson.

Survivors include her sons, Herman Julian “Sonny” Mitchuson and his wife, Anne of Gary, IN, John Perry Mitchuson of Schererville, IN, Mark Gregory Mitchuson of Schererville, IN; her daughters, Virginia Dyer Mitchuson of St. John, IN, and Cathy Lee Groeber and her husband, Vernon of Schererville, IN ; her sister, Bonnie Sue Graham-Griffey and her husband, Bobby of Hopkinsville, KY; fourteen grandchildren, Steven Mitchuson and his wife, Kristine, Jessica Alcock, and her husband, Bill, Melissa Norton and her husband, Brandon, Katherine Mitchuson, Anthony Mitchuson, Nichole Mitchuson, Kevin Mitchuson, Keith Mitchuson, Julie Kamal and her husband, Rashid, Robert Rutherford, Christopher Rutherford, and Scott Rutherford, Caitlin Travis, and her husband, Matt, Emily Coates, and her husband, Archie and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 12, 2013 at Lawrence Cemetery in Cadiz, KY with burial to follow. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00PM Thursday, July 11, 2013 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
