Bertha Kinsinger Zook Yoder, age 79 of Guthrie, KY

flower03HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Bertha Kinsinger Zook Yoder, age 79 of Guthrie, KY, passed away 1:55 p.m. Sunday, July 21, 2013 at her residence of natural causes. Local services will be 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the South District Amish Church in Guthrie, KY with Bishop Marvin Kanagy officiating.

Mrs. Yoder was born Demcember 19, 1933 in Somerset Co., PA the daughter of the late Milton and Katie Hochstetler Kinsinger. She was a member of the South District Amish Church in Guthrie, KY. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph J. Zook in 1993; her second husband, John N. Yoder in 2002; her brothers, Herman Kinsinger and John Kinsinger; her sister, Orpha Nissley; her stillborn son, Aquilla Zook.

Survivors include three daughters, Miriam (David) Miller of Stuarts Draft, VA, Ruth (Eli) Kinsinger of White Hall, IL and Sarah (Wilmer) Beachy of Guthrie, KY; one son, Abner (Sovilla Mae Beachy) Zook of Trenton, KY; one brother, Menno Kinsinger of Stuarts Draft, VA; one brother-in-law, Leroy Nissley of Hickory, KY; two sister-in-laws, Sara Kinsinger of Stuarts Draft, VA and Elizabeth Zook of Oakland, Maryland; 24 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; 11 stepchildren, many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8:00 p.m. at the South District Amish Church. Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY is in charge of the arrangements. Services in Oakland, Maryland will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Gortner Amish Church in Oakland, Maryland with Bishop Alvin Beachy officiating. Burial will follow in the Slabaugh Cemetery in Oakland, Maryland. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Gortner Amish Church. Newman Funeral Home of Oakland, Maryland is in charge of the arrangements.
