Ronald Jay Dyer, 64, of Kuttawa, Ky

sunsetbridgeHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Ronald Jay Dyer, 64, of Kuttawa, Ky and formerly of Crofton, passed away at 8:38 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at Caldwell Medical Center in Princeton after a long illness.

A native of Boston, Massachusetts born August 10, 1948, he was the son of Imogene Dyer of Crofton and the late I.J. Dyer. He had been the owner and operator of Ron’s Wholesale and had formerly worked for both Pyro and Island Creek Coal Company. He was a member of Crofton Christian Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Debbie Hope Dyer, of Kuttawa, one son, Mike Dyer and his wife Missy of Dawson Springs, one stepson, Brent Walker of Henderson, one stepdaughter, Jamie Meurer, Henderson, two grandchildren; Mindy Dyer and Hunter Dyer, five step-grandchildren; Kobe Walker, Kayden Walker, Nick Heistand, Katelyn McCord and Kendyl McCord and one great-grandchild, Cayden Dyer.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Crofton conducted by Rev. Carl Nelson with burial to follow in Ridgetop Cemetery in Crofton. Pallbearers will be Terry Bowman, Rufus Dyer, Keith Hope, Tom Kloke, Ricky Bennett and Karl Dyer.

Visitation will be from noon until the service hour of 2:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
