HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Susan Murray Aldridge Heflin, 84, of Christian County, KY passed away at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at her residence following a brief illness.
A native of Evansville, IN she was born March 31, 1929 the daughter of the late John Thomas Aldridge, Wilma Dodds Aldridge Banister and Wesley Banister. She was retired from the Christian County Public Schools where she worked at Sinking Fork Elementary School and Christian County Middle School, serving as a secretary and materials clerk. She was a member of First Christian Church in Hopkinsville where she had served as deacon, elder, chair of the church board, and trustee. She also served as a trustee of the Elizabeth Stone Educational Fund.
Survivors include her husband: Elwyn Dale Heflin; her daughter: Mrs. Jonathan Carter (Eileen) White of Christian County, KY; her grandsons: William Dale Murphy (Christina) and Patrick Drew Murphy (Bobbi); and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, August 16, 2013 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at First Christian Church. The body will be cremated. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville is in charge of the arrangements.
