Dorothy Luther Fletcher, 90

flowerHOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Dorothy Luther Fletcher, 90, of Circle Drive passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Woodcrest Healthcare Center at the Blakeford in Nashville, TN.

A native of Mayfield, KY she was born January 29, 1923 the daughter of the late Shirley Luther and Mattie Kirkwood Luther.

In 1941 she was named one of LOOK Magazine’s Most Beautiful College Age Women while she was attending Bethel College.

She was a medical technologist. She was a member of First Christian Church and Friends of the Library.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Sory Fletcher, Jr. (2007) and her daughter, Martha Ruth “Muffy” Fletcher Gass (2012).

Survivors include her son: Benjamin Sory Fletcher III of Hopkinsville, KY; her son in law: Andy Gass of Nashville, TN; her brother: Rev. Father Ben Luther of Central City, KY; her grandchildren: Katie Gass of Nashville, TN. Mary Kirk Smith (Andrew) and Ellen Fletcher both of Nashville, TN and their mother, Ann Bourland.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Nathan C. Brown officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from Noon until the service hour at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville, KY.

Memorial contributions are suggested to First Christian Church or Friends of the Library.
