Pearl Ailene Goode Simpson, 98

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Pearl Ailene Goode Simpson, 98, of Hopkinsville, Ky, deceased at 8:37 a.m. September 26, 2013, at Christian Health Center of natural causes.

A native of Christian County, she was born March 24, 1915, the daughter of the late Henry Alexander and Ida Pearl West Goode. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her 2 daughters: Jean Simpson Kiker of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Mary Cummings-Delaney of Hopkinsville; her sister: June Burr of Springfield, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren: Neil Reid, Mark Reid, Denny Lacy, David Scott, Dwayne Scott, Hope DeMeter, Debbie Gosman, Gail Powell, Chris Simpson, and Joey Simpson; 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Marion Everett Simpson in 1997 and her son Jerry M. Simpson in 2012.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville, with Rev. Dr. Jim Hazelrigg officiating. Burial following in Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until the funeral hour on Sunday at the funeral home. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 952 Fairview Avenue, Suite #4, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
