lourdes1 300PADUCAH, Ky. (10/2/13) – Lourdes Hospice is recruiting volunteers who may bring comfort and compassion to patients and their families.

Volunteers may give of their time and talents in a variety of ways including: patient care and support, administrative and office support, special services, speaker’s bureau, special events and team approach and training.

“Volunteers are a vital part of the Lourdes Hospice team,” says Kay Williams, Lourdes Hospice/HomeCare Director. “They can provide companionship and emotional support to the patient and family, helping in the home and offering respite to the caregiver.”

Lourdes Hospice has provided comfort, compassion, and dignity to the terminally ill for more than 30 years serving 16 counties in western Kentucky and southern Illinois.

All volunteers must complete a thorough training course that prepares them for hospice work. They are supervised by the hospice volunteer coordinator. For more information, contact Susan Mason at 270-415-3640.
