George Marvin Armistead Sr., 77 of Sharon Grove, KY

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - George Marvin Armistead Sr., 77 of Sharon Grove, KY passed away October 16, 2013 4:20 p.m. at his residence of natural causes.

George was born in Carthage, TN February 5, 1936 the son of the late Hurburt Armistead Doris Margaret Crowell Armistead. He is a retired U.S. Marine where he served in Korean War and Viet Nam. He is retired from General Motors where he was a heavy equipment mechanic for 32 ½ years. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge in Samaria, MI. George was preceded in death by his first wife Barbara Jean Armistead in 2003, one daughter Terry Lynn Armistead.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Epley Armistead of Sharon Grove, KY, two sons George Armistead Jr. of Temperance, MI, Gordon Armistead of Delta, OH, one daughter Teresa Marshall of Howell MI, two step daughters Wendy Brooks of Sharon Grove, KY, Rita Witherspoon of Waynesville, MO, one brother Raymond Armistead of Samaria, MI, one sister Diane Shields of Ida, MI, 9 Grandchidlren.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at Toledo Memorial Park in Toledo, Ohio with burial to follow. Visitation will be Friday October 18, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY.

The family asks that donations be given to the American Heart Association
