ind bank employeeOWENSBORO, Ky. (10/21/13) - Owensboro native, Minga Trogdlen, was named the Owensboro Chamber of Commerce’s October Ambassador of the Month. Trogdlen also holds the title of cash manager at Independence Bank.

Trogdlen, who won the honor based on having the highest attendance points of all the ambassadors, has been in the banking field for 38 years. She previously has been in the savings, lending and operations departments, but dealing with businesses, as cash manager, actually goes hand-in-hand with her role as an ambassador, she said.

“The new business’ ribbon-cuttings help a lot with networking,” Trogdlen said.

As cash manager, Trogdlen manages the staffing needs of local businesses by assisting them with deposit relations. Remote Deposit Capture is a new feature of Independence Bank, which helps businesses access funds faster and easier with a scanning system for checks, she said.

Trogdlen is no stranger to the effects of the yo-yoing economy experienced in the Owensboro area, however, she believes the economy is on the rebound. New Regulatory issues might impact the future of customers' banking, but Trogdlen explained that she doesn’t think it will necessarily be negative.

Trogdlen speaks very highly of her workplace, saying that the leadership is “encouraging”.

“Independence is growing by leaps and bounds,” Trogdlen said.
