HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Orin R. Koch, 80, of Hopkinsville, Ky passed away at 3:25 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah of natural causes.
A native of Stetsonville, Wisconsin, he was born October 7, 1933, the son of the late Otto and Matilda Frances Lueck Koch. He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. He was a retired 1st Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was a life-time member of the VFW Post 1913, and a member of the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Franke Koch, 2 sons: Dean Koch (Edith) of Hopkinsville and Dan Koch (Susan) of LaFayette, Georgia, 5 grandchildren: Shannon Wicks, Sheena Koch, Brooke Sumner, Stevi White, and Jamie Davis, 8 great grandchildren: Ryan Wells, Hannah Wells, Alexis Sumner, Hannah Sumner, Gavin White, Ayden Davis, Gage White, and Kindle White.
Funeral Mass will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, February 3, 2014, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Oak Grove, with Father David Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Ky Veterans Cemetery West. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville in charge of arrangements.
