Nora Lee Clardy, 77, of Hopkinsville, Ky

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. - Nora Lee Clardy, 77, of Hopkinsville, Ky passed away at 5:50 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at her home of natural causes.

A native of Hopkinsville, she was born June 29, 1936, the daughter of the late Thel and Nellie Carter Clardy. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church. She was a retired teacher and principle. She graduated from University of Ky with a Master’s degree in education and from Upsilanti College in Eastern Michigan with an Administration degree in education. She taught 35 years in all, 31 years in Jackson, Michigan, where she was a principal her last years. She taught 2 years overseas in Turkey and Germany. She was a volunteer at Jennie Stuart Medical Center for 20 years, mostly in the gift shop.

Survivors include her brother, Dallas Brawner and his wife Brenda, of Hopkinsville.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014, at Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville, with Rev. Dennis Wilder officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Concord Baptist Church, 1945 Concord Church #2 Road, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
