A native of Christian County, Kentucky she was born January 11, 1933 the daughter of the late Elwood Benjamin Maveety and Cynthia Griffey Maveety. She was retired from the Kentucky Retirement Systems.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she also served as secretary for the Shelia Higgins Sunday School Class for many years. She was a member of the Christian County Democratic Women’s Club, Kentucky Legal Secretaries Association, Professional Secretaries International, and Grange.
She is survived by her son: Milton Aldridge of Hopkinsville; her daughter: Karen Aldridge Crawford of Columbia, SC; four sisters: Naomi M. Cathcart of Hopkinsville, Ovrah M. Dunn of Hopkinsville, Ann M. Pryor of LaFayette, and Ruth M. Knight of Hopkinsville; two grandchildren: William Milton Aldridge III and B. Lindsay Crawford IV; and two step grandchildren: Tiffany Smith and Ashley Smith.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with the Rev. Dr. Howard H. Willen and Rev. Paige S. Williams officiating. Entombment will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
