asphalt1 kytrans 300MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (4/4/14) — A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close Kentucky 2270 in Muhlenberg County during daylight hours starting Tuesday, April 8, 2014.

Kentucky 2270 will be closed for asphalt paving that will run from about the 3 mile marker to mile point 6.712 near Fox Lane, a distance of 3.7 miles.

Closing the roadway for full-width paving will allow the project to move more quickly and provide a better driving surface. Work along this section is expected to take about 2 days to complete, weather permitting.

Local access will be maintained on each side of the closure point for property owners. The contractor will accommodate access by emergency vehicles, if needed.

Road Builders is the prime contractor on this $771,530 group paving project, which includes paving along Kentucky 853.

Timely traffic advisories for the eleven counties of KYTC Highway District 2 are available by going to www.facebook.com/kytcdistrict2.
