HOPKINSVILLE, KY - Sylvester Jordan, age 81 of Elkton, passed away 5:28 a.m. Thursday, November 03, 2011 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, KY of natural causes.
Sylvester was born in Todd County July 1, 1930 the son of the late Leonard and Oma Powell Jordan. He had worked for Elkton Die Casting for 11 years and retired from Trane, Inc in Clarksville, TN. Sylvester was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korea War, he was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, choir member and greeter, he was also a member of the Todd County Fish and Game Club, and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He was preceded in death besides his parents by two brothers Chester and Robert Jordan and four sisters Edith Lack, Della Henson, Lillian McGinnis and Mary Lucille Jordan.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Vernie Jordan of Elkton, KY, one son Randy (Debbie) Jordan of Allegre, KY, four brothers Johnny and Junior Jordan both of Elkton, Sam and Sherman Jordan both of Indiana, one sister Martha Boley of Elkton, two grandchildren Heather Nichole McIntosh of Elkton, and Shannon Renee Petrie of Allegre, KY, one great grandchild Lily Kate McIntosh of Elkton.
Services will be Sunday November 6, 2011 2:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Rev. Randy Davenport, Rev. Lloyd Tucker and Rev. Jimmy Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Saturday November 5, 2011 at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY
