HOPKINSVILLE, KY - James Leonard Campbell, 84, of N. Henderson Drive passed away at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, December 25, 2011 at his residence following a brief illness.
A native of Trigg County, Kentucky he was born February 23, 1927 the son of the late James O. and Irene Pryor Campbell. He was a WWII United States Army veteran where he served as a driver for 43rd Division of the 102nd Infantry while in Germany. He was a retired with over 32 years as a truck driver from Hopkinsville Milling Company. He was a member and elder at Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife: Mary H. Campbell; his daughter: Gwendolyn J. Campbell of the home; his brother: Tommy Campbell of Goodlettsville, TN; three sisters: Beuton Towler of Indiana, Susie Towler of Cadiz, KY, and Jo Ann Wilson of Cadiz, KY.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with Rev. Jason Heidel and Rev. James E. Talley officiating. Burial will follow in Flat Lick Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 26, 2011 from 4:00 ? 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
