John T. Robertson, 92, of Hopkinsville

obit2HOPKINSVILLE, KY - John T. Robertson, 92, of Hopkinsville died at 10:25 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2011 at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, TN following a long illness.

A native of Christian County, Kentucky he was born September 4, 1919 the son of the late John Robertson and Nannie Mae Cayce Robertson. He was a self-employed builder, former Hopkinsville City Councilman, and served as Christian County Clerk from 1980-1984. He served as contractor for the Round Table Project at the Hopkinsville Community College. He was past president of the Home Builders Association. He attended Flat Lick Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Boyd Robertson (2001), and a son, Steven Thomas Robertson (1983).

Survivors include his son: Pat Robertson of Hopkinsville; two daughters: Jo Bader of Hopkinsville and Mary Beth Ryder of Long Island, NY; a brother: Marvin Robertson of Hopkinsville; three sisters: Katie Mae Rutland of Hopkinsville, Ruth Davenport and Ida Ashby both of Christian County; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with the Rev. James E. Talley officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
