HOPKINSVILLE, KY - Harry (Turk) Gardner, age 99 of Allensville, passed away Sunday morning at 4:04 at the Hearthstone Place Nursing Home in Elkton of natural causes.
Mr. Gardner was born March 16, 1912 in Todd County, son of the late John and Catherine Miller Gardner.
He was a member of the Allensville Church of Christ, a retired farmer and was the pitcher for the Todd County Legion Ball Club in the 1930‘s, he was active in the Guthrie and Russellville Senior Citizens.
Mr. Gardner is preceded in death by his parents as well as his wife Mary Nell Majors Gardner, three brothers Dan, Bob and Jamie Gardner, and one great grandchild John Bryant Reading.
He is survived by three sons James Harry Gardner of Hornbeak, Tennessee, Dan Gardner of Louisville and Bill Gardner of Elkton. Two daughters Joanne Goad and Judy Coleman both of Olmstead. One sister Sarah Belle Freedle of Portland, Tennessee. 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Visitation with the Gardner family will be held on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 at the Todd County Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 in the Rose Chapel of the Todd County Funeral Home with Trey Judd officiating. Interment to follow at the Belmont Cemetery at Allensville.
