Ray Peyton, 66, of Owensboro

 

OWENSBORO, KY - Ray Peyton, 66, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Daviess Co. to the late John K. and Rena M. (Pulliam) Peyton.

Ray was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Western Kentucky Energy (Big Rivers) and was a member of the local VFW and AMVETS. Ray enjoyed traveling and at one time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Tamila R. Peyton in 1999 and a son, Ricky Gene Peyton in 1991.

Ray is survived by a brother, Bobby Peyton (Betty); friend and former spouse, Judie Peyton; nephews, Gene Peyton (Dianne) and John Peyton; a great nephew, Patrick Peyton, all of Owensboro; Judie’s niece, Kelley Nelson, who was a special friend and another close friend, Jenny Countryman.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 28 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday and on Saturday from 9:00 am until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's Foundation 200 Abraham Flexner Way Louisville, KY 40202.

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the many dedicated friends who helped care for Ray.
