Joseph (Buddy) Jeffries 62, of Calhoun, Kentucky

 

CALHOUN, KY - Joseph (Buddy) Jeffries 62, of Calhoun, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at his home.

Joseph Lynn Jeffries was born August 30, 1949 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to the late Ollie Lenwood and Eula Hancock Jeffries, was married to the former Patricia Sue Luck on June 20, 1970, and was better known as “Bubby” by both his family and friends. Buddy retried from Alcan in Sebree and was a member of the Calhoun Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with both his family and friends, especially doing things with his daughters, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Buddy also enjoyed gardening, riding his Kawasaki Mule, watching western movies, and caring for his dog, Emma.

In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by a daughter, Tricia Jo Jeffries, and by Patty’s Parents, Mable Jean and Louis “Bill” Luck.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Patty Jeffries; two daughters, Tammy Holder of Calhoun and Sandy Dant and her husband, Tony of Calhoun; five grandchildren, Amy Jo Keller, Dylan Holder, Baron Holder, Jamen Dant, and Myles Holder; three sisters and their husbands, Patsy and Keith Lynn of Bremen, Hilda and Buddy Willis of Lewisport, and Carolyn Goggans of Greenville, South Carolina; three sisters-in-law and their husbands, Katherine and Ronald Smiley of Centertown, Brenda and Terry Coleman of Calhoun, and Linda and Don Bryant of Romulus, Michigan; three special aunts and their husbands, Katherine Johnson of Calhoun, Sue and Medley Hoover of Centertown, and Eloise and Gene Holland of Nashville, North Carolina; a very special cousin, who was like his brother and his wife, Eddie and Cleda Miller of Bremen; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Franklin Skaggs and the Rev. Don Duncan officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Buddy’s Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Saturday at Musters in Calhoun.

The Joseph “Buddy” Jeffries Family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Green River Hospice, Patient Care; 418 North Scott Street; Madisonville, Kentucky 42431. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
