OWENSBORO, KY - Ronald Gene Hoffman, 67, of Deland, FL, passed away peacefully in the early morning of January 22, 2012.
He was born on March 31, 1944 in Henderson, Kentucky to the late Lloyd F. and Mary E. Hoffman and moved to Central Florida in 1972. He worked as a concrete truck driver for Rinker and Tarmac during his 26 year career. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He loved watching football, NASCAR racing and keeping up with the daily news cycle. He married Charlene Stout of Owensboro in 1965.
He is survived by his three sons, Jeffrey (Spring) of Orange City, FL, Trevor of Deltona, FL and Rodney (Susan) of Deltona, FL; four brothers, Donald (Marge) of Philpot, KY, and Ken (Bonnie), Dennis (Connie), and Rick (Gayla) all of Owensboro; one sister, Linda Brown (Richard) of Marion, KY; three grandchildren, Victoria, Abbey and Maria and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Third Baptist Church in Owensboro. James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro is in charge of local arrangements.
