James Howard Horsley, 71, of Owensboro, KY

 

OWENSBORO, KY - James Howard Horsley, 71, of Owensboro, KY passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at his home.

He was born on October 29, 1940 in Maceo, KY to the late French and Rosalee Horsley. He was a member of Christ Gospel Church and retired from the City of Owensboro. He loved riding his Moped, enjoyed going to church and was a people person.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheilann Margaret Horsley on January 4, 2009 and by sisters, Ethelene Jones and Anna Sue Jones.

Survivors include his daughters, Cathy Johnson (Terry) of Owensboro and Patricia Johnson (Gary) of Utica, KY; his sons, Harvey Hendricks, Jr. (Lisa) and James Hendricks both of Owensboro; ten grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; three brothers, Charles Horsley of Lowell, IN, Jesse Horsley (Anna) and Harold Horsley (Rosstine) both of Maceo, KY and several nieces and nephews.

Services are at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 2, 2012, at the Christ Gospel Church, 9 Gale Avenue, Owensboro. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens in Owensboro. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Friday at the church. James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro is in charge of arrangements. Contributions in his memory may be made to Christ Gospel Church, P.O. Box 1058, Owensboro, KY 42302 or to Hospice of Western KY, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.
