James (Jimmy) Rubin Johnson, Jr., of Owensboro

 

OWENSBORO, KY - James (Jimmy) Rubin Johnson, Jr., of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on June 14, 1960 in Owensboro. He was of the Catholic faith and a Grandfather Electrician for IBEW Local 1701. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Jimmy loved working, cooking, riding mopeds, and bicycles.

He was preceded in death by his father, James R. Johnson.

Survivors include the love of his life for 23 years, Wanda Brown of Owensboro; his mother, Shirley Edge of Whitesville, KY; five sons, Brian Brown of Owensboro, Greg Brown of Owensboro, Jacob White of Maryville, TN, Dalton Brown of Owensboro, and Mason Brown of Owensboro; several grandchildren; his siblings, Tonya Abner of Centertown, Delaine Johnson of Olaton, Kimberly Slone of TN, Jamie Wedding of Whitesville, Diana Goate of Owensboro, Anthony Johnson of Whitesville; his best friends, Marvin Taylor and John Merritt and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in Owensboro. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to IBEW Local 1701 c/o Jimmy Johnson, 2911 W Parrish Ave., Owensboro, KY 42301.
