CALHOUN, KY - Christine D. Austin 84, of Island, Kentucky, formerly of Calhoun passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Riverside Manor Health Care Center in Calhoun.
Christine Durham was born December 4, 1927 in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Lee and Lilly Howell Durham and was married to William Robert Austin on October 18, 1947. Christine retired from the Charles Chips Plant in Calhoun and was a member of the Little Flock Holiness Church. She also enjoyed sewing, going to the Smokey Mountains, and shopping with her two sisters.
In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husband, William R. “Bill” Austin, who passed away August 14, 1999; a great granddaughter, Carliee Austin; two brothers, Grover Durham and Aubrey Durham; and a sister, Geneva Rorer.
Survivors include a son, Gary Austin and wife, Karen of Masonville; a daughter, Lisa Owen and husband, Curtis of Island; 8 grandchildren, Gary Lee Austin, Mellissa Millay, Adam Burch, Kayla Owen, Jordan Owen, Michelle Smith, Patricia Carman, and Crystal Crowe; eight great grandchildren, Courtney Austin, Kendra Austin, Candice Carman, Kendra Carman, Carley Carman, Courtney Smith, Hunter Crowe, and Ethan Crowe; a brother, Donnie Durham of Owensboro; and a sister, Elizabeth Hancock of Calhoun.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Revs. Byron Priar and Barney Priar officiating. Burial will be in the Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with Christine’s Family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:00 A.M. until time of services Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun.
