Josephine J. Qualls, 78 of Owensboro

OWENSBORO, KY - Josephine J. Qualls, 78 of Owensboro passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Saturday, March 3, 2012.

Her gentle spirit was met by her parents, Henry Cecil Johnson (1972) and Josephine Murphy Johnson (1990), son, Eubert Randy Qualls (1966), daughter, Diana Kay Qualls (2006) and her brothers and sisters, Henry Cecil Johnson, Jr., Julia J. Morris, Mary Ruth J. Leek, Edith J. Lynn and Robert William Johnson.

Jo was the youngest daughter of 7 children born to her parents in Owensboro, Kentucky on August 11, 1933. Jo's adventurous life took her to many states plus Puerto Rico. Her employment started at General Electric and ended with The Malco Theater Group. Everyone will miss her gentle spirit and her uncomplaining nature. She was a member of St. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and playing games.

Surviving are her siblings, Joseph Louis "Nicky" (Betty) Johnson of Owensboro, a sister-in-law, Glenda Johnson of Owensboro, numerous nephews and nieces who were an active part of her long life, as well as many friends.

A Memorial Mass for Jo will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, March 10, 2012, at St. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church. There will be no visitation. Jo desired her body be donated to medical science at the University of Louisville.

Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
