Edgar Youel (Lightening) Sharp 84 , of Calhoun, KY

 

OWENSBORO, KY - Edgar Youel (Lightening) Sharp 84 , of Calhoun, KY passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at his son’s home in Owensboro.

Edgar Youel Sharp was born August 15, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Dessha Youel and Katie Sharp. He was a life-long member of Glenville Baptist Church and was a self employed auto mechanic and worked in the oilfields for Kelcas Drilling.

Edgar was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Oleda Jean Trogdon Sharp on January 17, 1999, a daughter Connie Lynn Sharp in 2002, a son Jack Sharp in 2010, and a sister Beulah Mae Cooper.

Survivors include 2 sons and their wives: Ronnie & Martha Ann Sharp of Livermore, and Mikel & Connie Sharp of Owensboro. 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Charles Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery in McLean County. Friends may visit with the Sharp Family from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 8:00 A.M. until time of services Friday at Musters in Calhoun.

The Edgar “Lightening” Sharp Family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Glenville Baptist Church; Building Fund; C/O Susie Lahman; 10517 Hwy. 81; Utica, KY 42376 . Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at Musters in Calhoun.
